I went and bought this bed...sight unseen..from a photograph...I think I have lost my mind. I better like it or I'm in big KING SIZE BED trouble. We got a new mattress and box springs for our bed and took the old mattress which was in pretty good shape, bought a new 4"memory foam and put the bed in Emily's room. Her room is large and can accomodate a King bed nicely and she and Russ were a bit crowded in her double bed (or so I'm told)...So off I went to find a bed. I liked this one but it was not on the showroom floor so..I bought it anyway from a dad gum picture. Talk about a gamble. I must have lost my mind! If I don't like it I'm not even going to let them take it off the truck. I'll have to wait until July 3rd delivery date. Until then..I'll just pray.
The next issue is making a king size quilt for the bed. I hate making quilts that are as big a Omar the Tent makers house! King size quilts are a big lot of hassle...But I AM QUILTER...I AM STRONG RIGHT????It will be a while till I have time to do this until then I have a king size Christmas quilt I'll just throw that on the bed and we can keep Christmas in our hearts year round....as the saying goes.

Let me know how this turns out Pat. We are looking for a new bed too, and there is not much to be found that is traditional looking. So we may have to order one from a picture :-(
YES, YOU ARE STRONG! You can do it...just make sure it's something you REALLY like because it's such a big project! The bed looks great in the picture...is it black or dark brown. Can't wait to hear the outcome.
Nice bed! I need to make a king sized quilt for our bed too and it's way down on my list at the moment. Maybe I'll make it in sections and then put it together! I've heard of doing that! LOL
Good Luck Pat!! We have a full size bed (it's an antique) but it works just fine. Just bought a new matress when we moved. Anyway, back to you....FOLDING SHEETS!! I hate folding sheets, and I think folding sheets for that size bed would be a KING size pain. lol!! It is a pretty picture, I'm sure you are going to love it!!
Nice bed and I am sure it will be wonderful. I make lots of king sized quilts LOL. We have one of those monster king 4 post beds had it for more than 30 years. I would love to paint it white LOL.You can see it in one of my photos in my slide show.
Love the bed, I see absolutely nothing wrong with throwing a Christmas quilt on it.
That's a great looking bed. I bet you will like it.
Can't wait to see the quilt you decide on making.
Put the Christmas quilt on the bed - it will be "Christmas in July." LOL. This bed set looks awesome. Hope it's nicer than you imagined from the picture:)
It looks like a nice bed...from the picture. I can't do big quilts.....I'm stressed when I try to make something that isn't even quite twin-sized. I don't know how some of the little old ladies can handle that much fabric when piecing a BIG quilt top together. Is there some secret nobody has told me yet???
you are woman!!! you can do it!!
And you don't have to make the king size quilt NOW.
