You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by. Yes, but some of them are golden only because we let them slip.

I've been a tiny bit M.I.A. I was teaching a workshop Friday and Saturday for the Plantation guild in Hampton Georgia. I enjoyed spending some good quality time with this great group of ladies in the woods at the Calvin Center. The lodge/giant cabin we stayed in was pretty neat. All the rooms opened onto the sewing room. There were 30 people sewing there brains out and me yapping and teaching. Now that is my idea of fun! Many thanks to these terrific ladies. I feel like I have 30 brand new friends!
I wrote the beginnings of a post (see above) at 3:30 am (couldn't sleep committee called a meeting again)..then all hell broke loose. My computer is a mess...I have been talking to tech support in downtown Bagdhad or some place. All my programs and files are somewhere on my computer but I don't know what to do to fix my problem....did I mention I'm writing a book????? did I mention I'm having a fun give away on this blog. Where are my pictures...where is my photoshop? Where is EQ7... WHERE ARE MY DAUGHTERS WEDDING PHOTOS??? If I were a drinker I would be under the table drunk right now.
The soonest the Geek guys can get here is Wednesday morning. And it is going to cost me large $$$$$ Well at least I am able to find my blog on Internet Explorer...did I mention I'm a Mozilla girl...I can't find my MOZILLA. Do you hear my callllllls....are you out there.my blogging friends can I hear your voice?????...I can't find my email.........ok that is it......I GOTTA GET A GRIP...I have the manuscript for the book on a zippy thingy... and I have a second daughter I will save her wedding photos in a vault at Fort Knox. But where are my iTunes?
This is me signing off with no photos to show you of my retreat this weekend. I'm going to go to Kroger and get a giant bag of Cheetos, some Twizzlers, and a bottle of wine. I will try to post again...photoless...and possibly sick or hungover.

Oh, my goodness...I feel your pain. It's at times like these that I am happy for a husband who worked 26 years as a microcomputer analyst and can take care of such problems. I am sure they will get things fixed for you AND find everything that appears to be "lost" but it's stressful in the meantime. *sigh*
Ain't life fun! Been there. Done that. The good news is all my unseen was made visible by a super cool computer guy. Hang in there. It will get better.
New follower here! I have been meaning to get to Best Buy & pick up one of those nify external hard drives and back up all of my important photos and such. I can hear your wailing all the way over here, in Pennsylvania, so I guess that's my sign from above telling me to my a** over to BB and start backing up!
BTW, a box of wine is so much better than a bottle. Put it up on a shelf where you can fit your cup under the spout within reach of your desk/machine & you're set. On the bright side, maybe your Geek will turn out to be a hottie.
oh no! but still you managed to make me laugh! yeah, an external hard drive is a must, get one at least 500mb or go for a Terrabyte. The other must is to actually use the external hard drive. I hope you get everything back, and if not I hope you at least get all the important stuff back.
Aren't you forgetting the chocolate while you're at kroger?
off to back up my files right now!
Oh my, you have had a lot going on. Sure hope the computer geeks can find your missing files and get your computer back to normal. Now don't drink that whole bottle of wine. LOL Have a relaxing day. Winona
Oh No! How terrible!!! Don't you wish you had your own IT person on call 24/7. I do. Cause I want my stuff fixed right away. Someone needs to invent a service--pay X dollars a year for quarterly computer service/upgrades/maintenance and X number of emergency calls.
So sorry your computer is misbehaving. Computers are wonderful when they work:)
It sounds like you had a fun retreat! I'm so sorry that your having computer problems. Surely you have most of that stuff backed up, don't you? My husband bought an external hard drive to back our stuff up on. I'm sure that you'll feel much better once you finish off the Cheetos and wine!!
Oh Pat, I really feel for you!!! I lost all of my granddaughters second year of life pictures in my last crash. Boy do I back things up now!! I hope everything is still there, just in hiding!!
Crispy
Hope your computer guy gets you up and running fast. When I can't get my computer to do what I want I make sure there are plenty of M&M's and diet coke on hand. Still can't find the wedding photos from my oldest son's wedding. Good thing I had another son and two daughters.
OMG!!!!I am so sorry and hope the Geekman can come and sort it really fast without charging you $$$$. It's only when you're without it that you realise how much you rely on the darned computer isn't it?
Oh dear.
a while back I thought about all the things I save on my computer. I joined an online backup service. It automatically backs up my files at least every day. sometimes more often. So although my computer might die, my files are still there in cyber space. I load pictures to an online photo group, but there are so many other things I would hate to lose.
Haope all is well soon fearless leader. At least the jump drive was being used.
Sounds like the weekend was a blast at the cabin. Cya soon...
computer problems are so frustrating...love your solution...snacks and a bottle of wine sound great
Chocolate.
Lots of chocolate.
and Merlot.
At least a bottle...
then maybe some Excedrin
when you wake up.
I feel your pain, but on the up side. Maybe a good thing we don't have pictures of what is going on right now. Sucking down wine in the bottle through a twizzler straw is best left up to the imagination!
