Sewing Carts! OH MY!!!

The soul should always stand ajar. Ready to welcome
the ecstatic experience.
- Emily Dickinson
In the never ending quest to bring the latest toys to the sewing classrooms of the world...this little baby dropped into my last Thimbles Club meeting..yes my sewing on the go friends, I introduce you to the SEWING WAGON!!!!!
This baby folds up flat as a flitter..heck you can practically fit it in your purse  maybe that is a bit of a stretch. Anyway, you can dump your junk, machine and every notion on the planet needed for sewing on the go. It holds up to 200 pounds or sumthin like that. Wheel the thing into classes and retreats and you will be the envy of the group! You can even put your sewing snacks and favorite beverages in it!!
This is a 1-800-GOTTA HAVE IT, kind of thing! When Jane wheeled the thing into Thimbles there were screams of delight,  5 people disappeared from class for about an hour under the disguise of going out for lunch, 5 of these Ultimate Sewing Carts returned. They were trying to get a leg up on the rest of the group. sneaky sneaky

In the true spirit of sewing sisterhood we tend to all want what the other ones have.  My group will also help each other out. If they know you are busy sewing and one person is going to the store they will just purchase 20 and bring them back for the others in the group. It is a sure sale. If one of us has it we all gotta have it. Money, checks and credit cards fly out of the purses like popcorn in a popper.  They are generous that way or perhaps it is a form of validation, "  I saw this and thought it was a great idea...what do you think?"

I guess I'm going to have to put in a  request to the church for them to re-stripe the parking lot because I'm expecting 70 of the carts to come wheeling into class this month. We will all need a spot to park them. It will be an explosion of red sewing carts!

If you want to get one, and you live in the Atalanta area..forget it we got them all. The rest of you can find these sewing carts hidden in the lawn and garden section of Sam's Club. I don't know why they put sewing stuff in that section of the store...makes no sense to me. I wonder if they come in colors?

I am now on a quest to decorate my little red baby. First off-a license plate naturally. And a special section for Moda Man. As for my ohter idea......you will just have to wait until next Thimbles.. If only it would come sooner!!!!!

Wouldn't that be a hit at Houston Market.. to carry all those goodies everyone must have bought and carted around...

I bought one of those at our Kmart here in May. I only wish I'd known of them earlier, but I THINK they are fairly new to the market.
I used it for bringing my groceries on and off of the ferry. See, we lived for years full time on a barrier island with no stores, mail, nothing. So, I'd come to town to shop and had to load and unlead my groceries, weeeks wroth of mail, etc. in and out of vehicles, down ramps on boats, etc. Lots of handling. So, this little sucker just stays in the back of my suburban and then voila~ fill her up and off you go. I would have several wagon loads at once most of the time, so great invention.
DO you know that at the zoo a few weeks back, I saw a variation on this. It had a roof on it and was a two seater child's wagon. They crawl in and sit on either side like in a carnival ride and had a canvas roof. Folded up just like this .

Well look at you Miss Fancy thing!!! That is too cute. I'd be needing to see a youtube video of everyone parading in at the same time. haaaaa
Sorry I didn't get back to see you at market. I swear I was running the whole time and I know you were too with your signings and meetings.
Hugs!!

My hubby and I were at Atlanta Sewing today and he just didn't understand the "if one of us has it, we all gotta have it" concept. I guess that's why he's not a quilter. I sent him the blog anyway. I've got a birthday coming up and Christmas is right around the corner.

Of course I need one, especially since it is red.

I was so excited when I read this to realize that I was ALREADY the proud owner of a sewing cart!!
It performed terribly as the BEACH cart I thought it was, but since I don't off-road much with my sewing supplies, I bet it will be great!
Can't wait to use it for the Ellijay retreat!

Ha, I have had a rubbermaid tub with a lid and a pair of wheels at one end for years! It has a handle at the other end and my sewing machine fits nicely right over the axel between the wheels. I can get rolls of batting and cutting mats and rulers and all sorts of goodies in there. It fits perfectly in the back of my van and is only mildly difficult to heft in there by myself. I do have to pick up the non rolling end, but it tends to pivot on the heavy end where the machine acts sort of like a counterweight so it's not too heavy. Having it fold up would be nice, but I just store mine in the basement/garage and unload it from there. Too funny that they are now keeping 'sewing supplies' in the lawn and garden center!
