Sick! And a Delay!!!!

My love for you is not like rain, which comes and goes away. But its like sky, moves with you all around. -Raghav Singh
My post about the Snowbound Quilt A Long for tomorrow may be delayed until Saturday or Sunday. I got quite sick with bronchitis and double ear infections and blown ear drums last week while I was in the mountains hosting my retreats. I went a  doctor but apparently the antibiotic prescribed (and the other 5 prescriptions)  did me little or no good. I may be worse now than I was a week ago.

I feel so bad that I went to my doctor today and have been ordered to bed with new meds. If I'm not better by Monday who knows what my doctor will do. (maybe chop my head off!)  All I know is that I am throwing in the towel and will just hope these meds kick in real fast.

I have a long post on the Snowbound Quilt A Long but it is not ready for launch tomorrow and I need to take those meds!!!!  I promise I will get back to you by Saturday or Sunday. Please forgive me for this delay. I want to show you some great applique tutorials so I hope it will be worth the wait.

We will be cutting more background kits as soon as some new fabrics I have ordered arrive. If you contacted me by email about this, hopefully we can get the out by the end of next week. This pattern and all the kits are so popular!! whoopp whoopp...cough cough.

BTW for the record this is the first time in 12 years I have been sick. I don't DO SICK! I'm too busy to be SICK. I hate sick! I'm sick about being sick.

cough, cough, cough...

And happy valentines day too!
Send me some comments, that will heal me up real quick.

Sending some healing love your way. Take very good care of yourself. Coughs and colds can be very annoying but pneumonia will really put you down. So have Mr ST take very good care of you.

Hi Pat,
Sorry to hear you're sicky. Tammi can't come to Silver Thimbles. I'll email you next week, after you get all your quilt along stuff posted. Somehow I'll have to get my green jacket, that I specifically bought to go to my son's college baseball games! (his colors are navy and kelly green)
Take care friend. And go watch that ginormous TV!!

Tell the Earl that you need some chicken soup. Medicine will only do so much, but chicken soup will cure what ails ya. Well wishes heading your way, my friend.

Hello My Friend:
First off get better fast! Prayers headed your way.
Second I have thought of you so much recently, must have been that your sick.
Third I want to give you something to read and make you laugh......so here we go.
About two months ago DH found out that his prison was being closed/lost contract. But we were promised by the warden that many things were in the works. Well, lets just say that wasn't happening and so we started to hunt instead of trying to hunt with everyone else at the same time. So remember DH went to Hobbs, NM and made the statement I won't ever be going back there again. Well you guessed it that's the place that offered him a position hands down. Yes it did offer him $2.23 an hr more and after post training it goes up a little more. So right about now your thinking congrats I'm so happy for you. BITE your tongue (wait the earache is enough punishment for now.)! We were told that housing is at a premium and not to expect to find anything. People actually do travel from Hobbs to Lubbock which is aprox 2 hours each way. Well someone knew someone who knew our someone who said they had a double wide trailer avail immediately. So we started packing and filling two huge storage units. Now remember I am packing a 6 bed, 2 bath home and coming to a trailer. So we took off Sunday afternoon and spent the night in Trinidad, Colorado. If I told you about this Bates motel you wouldn't believe me, but I have pictures!!!! The next day we headed out and arrived at Hobb's and had to spend another night in a hotel cause the reality office had closed. Now we brought with us a tent blankets and pillows just in case. So Tuesday we drove out to see the trailer, which turned out to be a single wide FYI, but hey its not a tent right. We pulled up (had not alerted the reality co cause we wanted to look first to make sure its what we wanted) up pulls the welcoming wagon. He had keys to the trailer and with a smile " I knew it was you when I saw the trailer you were pulling)he opened it up and it was actually nice, small but nice. He says I have to get back to work, but the water company is over yonder, and we have a library for reading, (yes he did say that) oh and a lake for recreationing. Thanks, for the info but who do we give the money to? Well Ms. Denise is at work till 6, you all just unpack make yourself at home and she'll be by tonight. Now mind you they wanted a criminal background check before letting us move in, we had that all ready and he smiled ok it's official welcome.

Part 2
We went to the water dept after unloading the smallest UHAUL trailer and our cars, and city hall is two offices one for the Mayor elect and one for Leticia who does everything from water bills to motor registrations/tags. She asks me what my PO Box is, what? Yeah mail is delivered out here, you have to have a PO Box. Great off I go to the USPS, find a older lady there that wanted my ID and verification of residence. How since I don't have mail and have been here all of 2 hours? Well go to the water dept and see Ms. Leticia, wait I was just there and she sent me here. I did get a PO Box 238 Jal, NM 88252 if the prev. people had sent in a forwarding I wouldn't have had to pay for the box. Nope no such luck. So in this little town we have 2 gas stations, one thrift store (don't even go there) the city hall and USPS, no fast food places or actually any food places, wait for it and not even a WALMART. I have to either go into Odesa Texas or Hobbs to get to one. There are no quilting stores, we have to go three hours for that, no Joanne's zip zilch nada. Roswell has a Hobby Lobby but that's 4 hours away. I want to scream! All my stuff (except for hexi's) are in storage in Colorado! We can't get TV till Friday from Direct TV, Dish is 2/8 at least internet is coming tomorrow. Yes I'm on the net now, but have to pay TMobile big time for hot spots on my phone, and please don't sneeze or you are dropped. Our church is at least 2 hours away, and there's one in Hobb's but you should go to the one in your boundries, or you wont have a calling (job). I don't know how I feel about that just yet to be honest. I have decided I am going to order something small a couple times a week so FedEx has to deliver a small brown box and give this town something to talk about. My Dad almost dies laughing every time I call because this city girl is seriously being cramped.
Well this was long, and I hope I could make you smile and feel better at least a little bit.
Love and Hugs,
Vicki

P.S.
I have decided that this place was originally named Hell, but the guy couldn't understand him and named it Jal!
